As the baby boomers enter retirement, the percentage of older Americans is expected to rise sharply over the next 20 years. Currently, more than 25 percent of the U.S. population is 65 or older.

To address this growing need of our local older adult community, Cooley Dickinson created the Geriatric Services program.
The goals of the program are to address the complex needs of older adults and focus on health and function through the prevention and management of chronic diseases and disability.

The team approach is the hallmark of the Geriatric Services program and provides patients and families with physicians, physical therapists, social workers, among others, to identify thte specific needs and interventions that are unique to each person.

Meet Dr. Warner
Beth Warner, DO, a geriatrician, is the medical director of Cooley Dickinson Geriatric Services. She earned board certification in Geriatric Medicine, Internal Medicine, and Hospice and Palliative Care. Board certification demonstrates a physician's expertise in their chosen speciality.

Dr. Warner lectures and teaches on geriatric topics. She serves on the Massachusetts Medical Society’s Committee on Geriatric Medicine and also serves as a Delegate, where she advocates for the needs of older adults.

Dr. Warner grew up in Southampton, Mass. and lives locally with her family.

Dr. Warner and her staff work closely with area primary care doctors, social workers, visiting nurses, and other health care and community resources in the areas of:
  • assessing and managing dementia
  • preventing falls
  • assisting with complex decision-making at the onset of or during advanced illness.
