Our History
Cooley Dickinson when it opened in 1886. Years of caring have increased The Cooley Dickinson Hospital in physical size and medical expertise. The essence of Cooley Dickinson, concerned and compassionate patient care, are timeless characteristics of a fine hospital.

Decades of service are a credit to the men and women who made and make Cooley Dickinson an exceptionally humane institution. Each decade in the hospital's history has brought physical expansion and professional specialization. Here we attempt to highlight this history.

For those who have known its history perhaps it will stir some forgotten memories. For those who have known it more recently, we hope it will convey the simple message that keeping up with progress in medical and surgical specialties, as they affect patient care, has been and continues to be one Cooley Dickinson's goals.
