Building on respecting a woman’s choice, we work in concert with the mother to develop a birth plan. As a team with the mother we explore the multiple options that are available to her at the Child Birth Center (CBC). Such optional services include, Yoga, Pre-natal classes, Therapeutic Massage, Reiki. We learn and document what is important to her, and then partner with her and the family to support the choices made for the labor, delivery, and post delivery activities.

In addition to the diversity of family configurations that exist in our community, we recognize that there are many expectant mothers from non-western cultures that will be experiencing their first American childbirth here in the CBC. We seek to learn, understand and support what is natural and comfortable to such parents.

All of us at the CBC are dedicated to supporting the mother and family in having the birthing experience that they seek.

All staff nurses in the CBC have MA license, and NRP & ACLS certifications.
