The Cancer Registry at Cooley Dickinson Hospital has been in operation since 1988 as an integral part of the Cancer Care Program.  The mission of the registry is to collect timely and accurate data on cancer diagnosis and treatment at Cooley Dickinson and follow patients over their lifetime.  This information allows for evaluation of patient outcomes, for statistical analyses, special studies and reporting requirements to the Massachusetts Cancer Registry and National Cancer Data Base.  The Cancer Registry's goal is to exceed the expectations of the American College of Surgeons, Commission on Cancer and fulfill the Cooley Dickinson Cancer Committee's vision.

In addition to data collection, the Registry organizes the weekly Cancer (Tumor) Conference.  This is a multidisciplinary consultative service for cancer program team members and additional specialists to discuss newly diagnosed cases of breast, colon and rectal, head and neck, lung and other cancers.
