NORTHAMPTON – Do you know a young person who is interested in pursuing a career in nursing? Cooley Dickinson will award scholarships to area students who display scholastic aptitude and passion toward the nursing profession.

Effective immediately, the hospital’s Development Office invites applications for two scholarships, the Cooley Dickinson School of Nursing Alumni Scholarship and the Louise Finn Nursing Scholarship. Applications are due Monday, April 15; scholarships will be awarded in June.

The Cooley Dickinson School of Nursing Alumni Scholarship is awarded to a senior attending high school in Northampton who is pursuing a career in nursing.  Additionally, a teen who is pursuing a career in nursing and is the child of a current Cooley Dickinson Health Care employee is invited to apply for the Louise Finn Nursing Scholarship.

Each applicant must submit a competed application and a 250- to- 500-word essay. The essay should explain why the applicant wants to pursue nursing as a career, how their goals demonstrate their commitment to health care and the community, why they would like to receive the scholarship(s), and what relationship they have with Cooley Dickinson.  More information and applications are available at www.cooley-dickinson.org/development/nursing-scholarships.
