NORTHAMPTON — Cooley Dickinson announces scholarships to promote the nursing and laboratory professions through five named funds that have been made possible by donors.
The nursing scholarships are the Cooley Dickinson School of Nursing Alumni Association Fund; the Edward S. Moss Memorial Scholarship Fund; the Therese Connor Nursing Education Fund and the Louise Finn Nursing Scholarship Fund. The laboratory scholarship is the Donald "Skip" Jandzinski Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The scholarships are made possible by generous donors. For nursing, the Edward S. Moss Memorial Scholarship, endowed in 1966, was established by the late U. S. Senator Edward M. Kennedy in memory of Edward Moss, an aide to Senator Kennedy who was killed in a plane crash in Southampton in 1964. The Therese Connor Nursing Education Fund provides annual financial assistance to CDH registered nurses toward their professional development in a specialty area such as Oncology. The Cooley Dickinson School of Nursing Alumni Association Fund provides an annual scholarship award to a deserving senior attending a Northampton high school and the Louise Finn Nursing Scholarship, created in 2010, reconizes Louse, who worked as a maternal and infant care nurse at Cooley Dickinson for 54 years.
The Donald "Skip" Jandzinski Memorial Scholarship Fund was created in 2009 as a tribute to Skip and his deeply held belief in professional development opportunities for laboratory professionals.
