In addition to caring for women during pregnancy and childbirth, our certified nurse midwives are also trained to provide gynecologic (GYN) care for women throughout the reproductive lifespan, from adolescence to menopause. We apply our unique philosophy to providing gynecologic care: we partner with you in order to make informed choices about your health care based on your needs and the needs of your family. We take time to present you with options, listen to you, and answer all of your questions.

Our GYN services include:

  • Annual exams (Pap smears)
  • Screening, diagnosis and treatment of various conditions
  • Family planning and contraception
  • Infertility evaluation and first line management
  • Intrauterine insemination

The certified nurse midwives provide care in collaboration with Dr. Tucker Kueny, MD, obstetrician/gynecologist, the practice medical director. Dr. Kueny is board-certified by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is available for GYN consultations.  He specializes in noninvasive gynecologic surgery and pelvic floor disorders, including female incontinence.

As professional health care providers, certified nurse midwives complete advanced educational programs and earn accreditation from the American College of Nurse Midwives. In addition, each certified nurse midwife meets strict requirements set by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

To schedule a meet and greet visit, call (413) 584-8953. We care for women in two locations, 30 Locust Street, Northampton, at the Center for Midwifery Care, and 100 University Drive, Amherst.
