Breast Surgeries

Breast surgeries are a special area of interest for us. When we perform these procedures, we are helping women to regain or improve their confidence, comfort, and sense of well-being. Some breast surgeries, including post-mastectomy or lumpectomy reconstructions and some reductions, are considered non-elective medical procedures and are covered by most insurance plans. Often, reconstructive breast surgery can be scheduled concurrently with a mastectomy procedure, on the same day.

Procedures include:

Breast Reduction

This procedure provides relief for symptoms, such as back pain, related to large breasts.

Breast Reconstruction

This refers to immediate or delayed reconstruction of the breast after mastectomy or lumpectomy. Specific procedures include:

  • Implant reconstruction
  • Tissue expander/implant reconstruction
  • Latissimus flap reconstruction
(using your own tissue from the back)
  • TRAM flap reconstruction
(using your own tissue from the abdomen)
Cosmetic Breast Surgeries

We perform:

  • Breast augmentation (implants)
  • Mastopexy (breast lift)
  • Correction of gynecomastia (male breast reduction)

Practical Aspects

Does breast reduction help alleviate back pain?

Yes. Large breasts and the excess of this weight on the chest has been linked to upper back pain, lower back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain and even arm pain. In one study, 97% of patients reported improvement in back, shoulder and neck pain, 95% said they were happy or very happy with the results of surgery, and 98% said they would recommend it to others. This procedure can be covered by insurance.
