Cooley Dickinson Hospital offers a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program designed to help participants change their relationships to stressful thoughts and events.Through eight weekly, two and-a-half hour classes and a retreat, participants learn three meditation techniques that train the mind to return to the present moment. Instructor Wendy Chabot, MD, has benefited from practicing MBSR techniques. The program fee is $400; space is limited.

Look Good, Feel Better

Women undergoing chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy are invited to attend Look Good, Feel Better, a program that teaches beauty techniques to women living with cancer.

Cancer Genetic Counseling and Testing

A Certified Genetic Counselor from the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center will be available to meet with community members who may have a genetic predisposition to certain types of cancer. A referral from a primary care physician is required.
