The caring professionals of the outpatient division of Cooley Dickinson's Behavioral Health Services are here to help you. If you are experiencing a temporary or short-term difficulty that is getting in the way of your well-being, or daily routine, we are here to provide you the support and psychiatric care you need. With a diversity of support and specialized staff, we also can help you with longer term mental health care and substance abuse.
What Do We Offer?
- Psychotherapy and counseling tailored to your needs, including treatment for depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, adjustment disorders, trauma, behavior problems, identity issues, family and relationship conflicts, and ways to manage the stress of everyday living.
- Intensive Outpatient Treatment to aid those in the early phases of sobriety and recovery from substance abuse.
- Ongoing supportive counseling for substance abuse issues.
- Evaluations for mental health and substance abuse disorders.
- Psychological testing.
- Driver alcohol education.
- Psychiatric evaluation and follow up for medications.
- Specialized evaluations and consultation for those with very specific needs, such as contemplating a medical treatment that may have psychological implications, or individuals with a highly specific psychiatric diagnosis.

Behavioral Health staff at Cooley Dickinson Hospital are trained to treat members of all age groups. We offer treatment and specialized services for children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Please contact us for more information on our programs.
Who is on our staff?
Our staff is made up of a variety of specialists in the mental health field. At Cooley Dickinson doctoral level psychologists and psychiatrists with specializations in child psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry and addiction psychiatry, as well as psychiatric clinical nurse specialists are all here to assist you through your treatment. In addition, we offer licensed independent clinical social workers, mental health counselors, and marriage and family therapists.
