The mission of the Cancer Care Program at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital is to provide the best and most up-to-date cancer care including prevention, early detection, screening, diagnosis, treatment options, treatment, psychosocial support along the cancer continuum, and post hospital support. All services will focus on patients and their families. All services will be of the highest quality via our interdisciplinary team of cancer specialists and through a combination of strong local providers, and outside support brought to the CDH Cancer Care Program when possible, and by seamless coordinated referrals to appropriate settings for services not available in a community setting.
A cancer diagnosis may cause many challenges for patients and their families and may raise many questions. The most powerful tool one can have following a diagnosis of cancer is information. But it can be a difficult time to ask for help.
Information is important in helping you and your family to cope with the emotional impact that a cancer diagnosis can often bring. You should let your doctor know if you or your loved ones are having a difficult time. He or she can refer you for some assistance.
The Cancer Care Program at the Cooley Dickinson Hospital is the resource center, serving patients and families living with cancer in Hampshire County. We provide a team of professionals to help you deal with the physical, emotional, psychological, social, spiritual, emotional, and financial concerns that you may have about your cancer diagnosis.
