At Cooley Dickinson Hospital's Emergency Department, Fast Track staff offer high-quality, walk-in medical care for minor medical emergencies with all the backup resources of the hospital's X-ray and laboratory departments.
Fast Track is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. When Fast Track is closed, care is provided by the 24-hour Emergency Department, but patients with minor emergencies sometimes must wait to be treated while more seriously ill patients are being cared for. The triage nurse determines which patients are appropriate for Fast Track care. Some complaints such as abdominal pain or chest pain are not appropriate for Fast Track.
What are "minor emergencies" that may be treated in Fast Track?
