The Emergency Department is a specialized unit of Cooley Dickinson Hospital that is staffed and equipped to care for patients suffering from acute medical problems who, for health reasons, cannot wait to be seen by their primary care physician.
In the Emergency Department, specially trained physicians and nurses are available to provide care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Emergency Department staff provide care to more than 150,000 residents of and visitors to the central Pioneer Valley through over 32,000 visits annually.
