The Center for Midwifery Care offers women an array of midwifery services including pregnancy, birth and after birth care as well as routine gynecologic care. Our team of talented, compassionate and collaborative providers listens to women, offers information for making informed choices, supports those choices and empowers women to be partners in their healthcare.

Our new center is located in the Victorian home on the campus of Cooley Dickinson Hospital with easy access to our award-winning Childbirth Center.

What is a Certified Nurse Midwife?

Today’s certified nurse midwife is a professional healthcare provider who has graduated from one of the advanced education programs accredited by the American College of Nurse Midwifery (ACNM). In addition, nurse midwives must pass a rigorous national certification exam and meet the strict requirements of the state health agencies. Our logo is modeled after this statue at the hospital’s main entrance.

Our Philosophy of Care

“Mid-wife” means “with woman.” We believe in listening to women, offering information for making informed choices, supporting those choices and empowering women to be partners in their healthcare. We are committed to providing care that honors and encompasses the unique and individual styles and needs of the woman and her support system.

Our services are comprehensive and full scope. We care for women with the collaboration of our medical director, a board-certified OB/GYN who is sensitive, skilled and readily available for consultation when needed. Our team approach offers the best of both worlds.
