Since 1904, the Cooley Dickinson Hospital Auxiliary has continued to be an essential link in providing that extra effort that makes our hospital the special place it is. Our mission is to support patient and volunteer services; to advocate for the hospital; and to raise funds. We invite you to join our membership.

For those men and women who are interested in becoming actively involved, there are a variety of exciting activities from which to choose. In the Auxiliary community, you will find a welcoming environment of camaraderie and fulfillment. People are Auxilians for many reasons. They like to apply their skills in work which serves the community. They enjoy the social interaction and friendships formed. People discover meaningful activities which continue into or begin at retirement. They are committed to maintaining our hospital as a strong community institution of excellence, quality and service. They provide a personal touch with generosity, discretion and gentleness for patients and their families. Commitments have considerable flexibility in amount of time, nature of activity and schedule.

Below are some of the areas in which the Auxiliary is currently involved.

The Auxiliary activities include:

• The CDH Gift Shop
• The CDH Coffee Shop
• Art Exhibits
• Trees of Love and Thanksgiving- honoring loved ones with lights from November to January each year
• Annual Fashion Show
• Monthly Blood Pressure Clinics

The Auxiliary has funded:

• Radiology Equipment
• Blood Donor Chairs
• Colposcope
• Free Television for all patients (on-going)
• New CDH outpatient building construction
• Fetal and Cardiac Monitors
• Mammography Equipment
• Computer Equipment for the Surgery Department
• Puppets for pediatric patients
• A Mobilizer for the Emergency Department
