Designed for high school students ages 15 and older. Spend two to three shifts at the hospital in a variety of department. Application are sent to the Guidance counselor of all local high schools in April The program runs 8 weeks from July to August. High school students are also accepted during the year in after school placements or for semester internships with permission of the school. Early application submission is a must as openings are limited, the deadline to get your application in is Friday, May 9, 2008.

Escort visitors to appointments, give directions, create a warm and welcoming environment. Must be able to push wheelchairs, learn simple computer tasks. Information desks are located in the New Building, at the Main Entrance, at the Grand Staircase and in the Emergency Department. Shifts are usually from 8am-12pm, 1pm2-4pm and 4pm-7pm. Monday through Friday shifts are needed the most.
Greet customers, use cash register, retail experience preferred. Open 7 days per week.
Work with other Volunteers in the hospital serving soups and sandwiches. Open 7 days per week.
Filing, collating and various other projects. Opportunities in Hampshire Health Connect, other departments as requested. Mornings Monday /Wednesday or Friday.
Assist with filing patient charts, treatment room upkeep, changing linens, stockings shelves. Experience with office environment preferred. Two shifts per week, days flexible during the week, (no weekends.)
Deliver Mail through out the hospital. This is a great way to exercise and involves lots of walking, meeting people and getting to know the hospital.
Deliver needed equipment to Nursing Floors, wrap items for sterilization, assist in preparing items for patients and surgery. *am-11am shifts available any day of the week.
Dog owners who are interested in the Therapy Dog program must contact and be screened through Bright-spot, Inc. (brightspot-spot@comcast.net) Please know that dogs must be under the owner's control at all times. Dogs must be able to sit quietly and not jump up on visitors.
Label and deliver newspapers to all patient floors and various waiting rooms. Early riser a must-position begins at 7am. Available Monday through Friday.
Direct visitors, answer phones, file, help visitors and patients with non-clinical requests, such as pillows, chairs, etc.
Assist Transportation Staff with transporting patients to all areas of the hospital and with patient discharges. Deliver specimens to laboratory areas as designated. Assist with delivery of patient care equipment and medical/surgical supplies to nursing care units. Available Monday through Friday.
