In April 2007, Cooley Dickinson opened the Kittredge Surgery Center and began a new chapter in patient care. Construction and completion of the North Building, including the Kittredge Surgery Center, was the largest single project Cooley Dickinson had undertaken in its 120-year history and represents the hospital’s commitment to enhance already outstanding medical care and surgical services here in the Pioneer Valley.

Cooley Dickinson Hospital offers a 24-bed adult/geriatric inpatient behavioral health unit that is designed and staffed to support community members who are living with a variety of behavioral health concerns.

Our approach to patient care is to achieve stable behavioral control and to provide relationship-centered treatment that is driven by the principles of recovery and trauma-informed care. Our clinical teams strive to create a safe and supportive environment that facilitates an individual’s return to community life with stability and increased resiliency.

Building on respecting a woman’s choice, we work in concert with the mother to develop a birth plan. As a team with the mother we explore the multiple options that are available to her at the Child Birth Center (CBC). Such optional services include, Yoga, Pre-natal classes, Therapeutic Massage, Reiki. We learn and document what is important to her, and then partner with her and the family to support the choices made for the labor, delivery, and post delivery activities.

The Diagnostic Cardiology team of allied health professionals provides EKG, Stress Testing, Nuclear Medicine procedures and 24x30 day monitoring on both an in-patient and out patient basis.
